Youth Leadership is a program designed to help youth realize their unique potential as individuals as well as in group settings. Youth Leadership teaches the joy and benefits of volunteering and 'giving back' to the community and lets teens see that they are important and that they can make a difference. The Zanesville PAL Youth Leadership class meets every Wednesday evening from 7-8:30 p.m. This program is open to youth ages 11-17 and is for any teen wanting to get involved with their community, learning the value of volunteering and service above self.
YLC has accomplished many activities over the past three years. They have created a newsletter, sponored teen dances, Christmas, Halloween and Easter parties for different groups of youth in their 'neighborhood"where the youth did all the planning, construction/decoration, and implimentation of the games, prizes, food and cleanup. They work community beautification within a two block radius of the PAL building, picking up trash & planting flowers.
FUN ACTIVITIES JUST FOR FUN:
Leadership isnt all work though, youth earn the privledge to attend the PAL Annual Conference, which is a three day, all expense paid trip to King's Island. Other 'fun' activities that Leadership has participated in is a day at Lake Isabella, a night of bowling, attending a dance at an out of town teen center and much much more..So stop in and see us, get involved with other like minded teens to put your talents to work and have a great time!
